My story of how I became interested in vehicles

We all started our car journyes in a different way. Some of you started playing with them as children, some of you probably helped your dad/uncle/whoever wrench on them and then some of yougot hooked on motorsports and that’s how your interest in the got sparked. As I said, everyone’s story is unique. But what about me?

Before becoming a car enthusiast

When I was a kid, regular passenger cars have not really been that exciting to me. I was into the big stuff: Trucks with (and without) trailers, farm and construction equipment, buses. Basically anything that had a trailer attached to it. Regular passenger cars felt a bit meh. Just to give you a perspective on how toys had to be in my long forgotten childhood, I’ll give you this little stock photo that I borrowed from Pexels:

So as you can tell that’s what excited me as a child. It still does, if I’m honest with you. There is something about big rigs that’s just fascinating.

But then I got older and things kinda stalled. For a long time, when I was in school, I didn’t really pursue any hobbies or interests. Until I finally finished it and got time to learn how to drive…

Becoming a car enthusiast

When I was finally done with school and had a bit of time before moving on to studying at a university, I decided to take driving lessons at my local driving school. And that’s where things changed dramatically!

When I first sat behind a steering wheel of my driving school car (and by the way, that was a Golf Mk 6 GTD!) Unfortunalety, I don’t have any photos of it, since it was so long ago, but some of you car nuts can certainly imagine what it looks like.

That’s when my car love took really off and I’ve never looked back. It stuck with me ever since.

What's next for me as a car enthusiast?

Basically, trying to become rich and buy all those dream cars of mine. What else? Sure, there are lots of them, but that should be motivational enough to work hard, put the pedal to the metal and make the best out of the possibilities I have.
